I.I.A.,
an Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Training Institute, approved
by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Govt. of India,
was born at Patna in the year 1982.
It was very humble start with only 10 employees. But over the
years, covering more than two decades, it has grown into a cluster
of 7 AME training institutions, all over India, centrally controlled
and administered by I.I.A. Delhi.
The organisation has earned high recognisation by the Aviation
authorities and the senior officials of Air line operators and
approved maintenance organisations, for its outstanding performance
and consistent academic excellence.
To assist in strengthening
the functionality, the Institute has setup an alumni office at
Indian Institute of Aeronautics
18/55, Punjabi Bagh (West), New Delhi – 110 026. The Alumni
Office offers alumni the chance to keep up with the happenings
at the institute. The Alumni Office also helps alumni to maintain
contact with other alumni.
To provide a forum of all the alumni of the institute for mutual
interaction and the benefit of its mater. To enable the alumni
to take part in facilitating the institute to promote very position & interactive
relation between the institute & alumni. To promote with
the help of its alumni a regular interface with the industry
for achieving the intended objective of making the higher education
meaningful. To help the alumni to get information from the institute
on various issues that they may come across in their professional
assignments.
Over the years, the only proven means for the alumni to keep
in touch with each other have been the personal letter and the
telephone. It does not appear that the great advances made in
Information Technology have provided a better mechanism. Yet,
there is a feeling that the wonders of email and the internet
might indeed offer good opportunities for greater interaction
between the alumni batch mates.
Alumni are the voice of an institution. Their achievement reflects
the success & performance of the institution. Though IIA
has grown for more than 25 years, yet we could not finalize a
complete list of our alumni because of various problems like – frequent
changes of jobs due to heavy demand of the Aircraft Maintenance
Engineers. The list of the alumni mentioned here are merely indicative.
As, till date quite a large no. of students have come out from
the Institute holding highly responsible post and working successfully
in various Airlines/Aviation Industries but are not included
in the present list, due to non-availability of their current
position. We are continuously updating the list and hope that
in very short time we will be able to complete the same.
